Here you will find maps of the routes where Nomad Dave is currently, my future plans, and where I have traveled since the beginning of this journey.
Nomad Dave’s Current Location
With the world learning how to deal with Covid-19, travel is opening up again. I have been betting on it and started planning in June, 2021 for a motorcycle trip around Europe for September and October. For sure there are a lot of barriers and uncertainties around international travel now but I tend to be a trailblazer. So, on September 4, 2021, I will be flying to Zurich, Switzerland, picking up a new motorcycle I purchased there and get back on the road.
When I got to Thailand back in November, 2016 I could not imagine it would be nearly 5 years until I’d ride outside of North America again. That was not supposed to happen. So now I am just itching to ride in Europe. The bike will stay there so in future years it will be easier for me to ride in in Europe, Asia, and Africa while still having my bike back home for rides in the Americas.
So it is time to hit the road again! I carry a SPOT Trace satellite-based tracking device with me while I travel. One reason is for safety. The other is so anyone interested in my journey can easily see where I am at any given time. You can see where I am at any given time in addition to making adjustments to the settings to see past time periods of where I have been as well as other parameters.
Just in case you are interested in a Spot Gen 3 device for your own travels I have made it easy for you to purchase one by adding a link to it on Amazon.com. While there is a cost for the device itself also keep in mind that there is an annual fee for the tracking service of $149. They only offer service in 1 year increments. In addition, to display the map within my own website (as opposed to the user being redirected to Spot’s website) I use a service provided by Spotwalla.com. It takes a bit of work to understand how to implement it within your own website but it is doable and well worth the effort.
